About the requirement
Dabur Nepal Private Limited has a manufacturing plant at Rampur Tokni (District Bara) in Nepal, which was expanded and modernised in the year 2018-19. The plant comprises a large HVAC system to maintain the temperature of various production facilities. The HVAC system requires Flowmeters for measuring the flow of intake water and the flow at chiller outlets. This is essential for efficient plant operation and optimal utilisation of resources. The company also required Flowmeters for its Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to measure the flow of clean water discharge.
Being a medicine and FMCG manufacturing plant, it operates 24×7, requiring the HVAC system and the STP to operate continuously. Using a highly reliable equipment at such plants is essential for smooth operation.
The plant being at a remote location, the company was looking for Flowmeter solutions that would be easy for the in-house team to install. Besides, the company expected that the aftersales service required should be minimum and in case of a problem, the manufacturer should be able to provide remote support via the Internet or telephone.
Challenges
Earlier, we had supplied Electromagnetic Flowmeters to Dabur Nepal. These Flowmeters are demonstrating satisfactory performance through consistently accurate readings and practically zero maintenance. When the new requirement for Flowmeters for the HVAC system and the STP emerged in 2018, the company approached none other than Adept with the confidence of getting the right solutions.
Right technology for intended applications
The new requirement was for measuring the water flow at different points such as the water intake point and the chiller outlet of the HVAC system, and the outlet of the STP. To meet a majority of the requirements effectively, Electromagnetic Flowmeters of different sizes were required, except for one application where an Ultrasonic Flowmeter was deemed more suitable. It was possible for us to offer the right Flowmeter model at each point from our vast range. We have supplied Electromagnetic Flowmeters model MagFlow 6410 and Ultrasonic Flowmeter model UFM 6720 from our proven range.
Installation made easy with DIY (Do It Yourself)* Flowmeter assemblies
Considering the remote location of the plant, Dabur Nepal insisted that the Flowmeters should be despatched in a ready-to-install condition, so that their local team should be able to install them easily. In fact, our Flowmeters are so designed that they can be installed even by untrained workmen. Additionally, we provided Dabur Nepal with an easy guide for installation and commissioning, and supervised the installation remotely using smartphone tools.
